  • Has the Establishment Failed us? Is it time to overthrow Generation X?

Has the ruling class over the last 10 - 15 years failed america and the world? Is it time for the old to step aside, and for the young to take over?

I am tired of the same old broken record partisan hackery going on. Everyone has their heads so far up special interest/political parties asses that they cannot see when its going wrong. There are too many vested interest that are working against the american people, and screwing the regular person out of everything.

the ruling class failed to stop terrorists before they achieved the most spectacular terrorist attack in history on american soil. they failed the people who put their trust in them to serve and protect, and yet no one was held accountable. and then they overreact by invading a country that had nothing to do with said attacks. they send our poor, our disadvantaged, our under educated and unemployed to go bleed and die in the sands of a country 10000 miles away entirely for the benefit of the establishment and not at all for the country.

theyve run the government finances into the ground, heaping incredible debt on the next generation (todays young generation), and failed to find away to provide health insurance to everyone who wants it, and havnt found a solution to social security and its solvability in the medium run.

the ruling class has not found a solution to getting off oil from a region where we must prop up despots, human rights abusers of the highest order, and other tyrants to ensure our addiction because the ruling class is precisely the ones invested in projecting american power and american corporations oversees. those who are ruling today were the ones running the armies or companies yesterday.

they have morally bankruped the nation with bribery and corruption scandals, gerrymandering, self serving pay raises. the billions in pork stuffed in each bill means yet more money for special interest, such as the agro-businesses, the israel lobby, and the defense contractors, which yet again, make us deal with human rights abusers and tyrants all the while screwing the consumers and the american people out of billions. and this is not even to mention the shamefully un-american detention center in guantanamo bay, the legal maneuvering to refuse basic civil rights to prisoners and the loss of moral high ground when dealing with tyrants and despots.

the hypocricy of dealing with china while refusing to talk to fidel, of talking about american values and traditions and civil rights while at the same time ignoring them or taking them away. how the first generation to send such a large percentage of its class to college has ended up with knee jerk reactions, uninformed opinions, anti-intellectualism, free trade hating, morally bankrupt history is beyond me.

maybe its time for you to move over and let the younger generation take over before we become corrupted just like you.

Generation X doesn't have anything to do with this. The people in charge are the Baby Boom generation.

Good luck overthrowing the Baby Boom generation.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

The real problem with baby boomers is when they will vote themselves retardedly good social security and health care benefits once they are all retired.

Well, if we'd have to generalize generations, then I'd say that the...

Baby boomers are an ***hole generation spoiled by their WW2-parents. The way how they ****ed their own elderly and are now greedily raising their own pensions is just an invididual demonstration of their selfishness.

If it would be up to them, we'd economically still be stuck in the late 70's, having perma-stagflation and consumer goods invented before 1960. But it's not the economy which is the only part of our world they have ****ed for us, covering even small fraction of what they've ruined would easily fill a book.

Edit: BTW LoA, your OP is an excellent and inspiring rant.
