The worst president in this century would probably be Warren Harding. The anecdotes from his Presidency easily qualify him for a place in a historical filth thread. Not only did he drink himself to death, but he once seen by passers-by ******** a secretary on a White House balcony. He held wild drunken gambling in an adjacent government office building.
OTOH Warren Harding isn't very well known. He's one of those presidents school kids have difficulty remembering.

All of the British royalty since Victoria are definitely over-rated in terms of their historical fame.

I wasn't aware they were rated at all.

In fact Victoria was one of the most overrated. The cosy glow of nostalgia has glossed over the fact they for much of her reign she was highly unpopular, and several assassination attempts were made on her.

On the plus sides, she was a dope-smoking nymphomaniac.

        You must be joking.

True he did lose. Guess I just like the movie and how he was portrayed as the person that brought about so much change and indepence from Englands rule

It was only a movie and maybe it didn't portray the truth.

Imagine a film about the D-day landings with no beaches and the American soldiers dressed as cowboys. That's roughly how accurate Braveheart is.

Nope. Some people say that his wife poisoned him, possibly with the blessing of the Republican party.

I agree with JM, JFK is SOOOO overrated. I get the feeling that people don't want to compliment LBJ because of Vietnam, so JFK gets all the praise instead.

JFK and his administration conceived of most of the proposals. However, he didn't have the political savvy to push them through Congress. LBJ did.

JFK was the handsome Prince of Camelot.
LBJ was a ironfisted unsophisticated bully.

So yeah, JFK gets the credit.
