              The draft is a crapshoot. As far as judging the players and how they fit the team, it's their prerogative. But if they knew Mario was their guy, they should have traded down and saved themselves a few million while getting another pick or two.

                  In the interest of being optomistic at all costs during the off-season and not despairing until the season starts, I'm going to agree with Jac here.

                  The Lions kept taking the flashy top rated offensive player and so far have been burned every single year. We haven't gotten a damn thing out of our top picks in the last 5 years or so. We all know how a top rated QB can turn out to be a collossal failure.

                  I'm sure if we didn't pick up those two new QBs already that we would have gone for Leinhart, but as is we've already signed contracts and shelled out some cash for new players at that position, so making it 3 highly paid QBs with holes everywhere else would help things even less.

                  I don't know anything about Simms, and I don't know how Leinhart will turn out in the NFL, but we all clammored for a coach that have the courage to overlook the flashy player in favor of what we need to build the team position by position, and that's what we've got.

                  But it doesn't matter anyways. No matter who we get behind center in Detroit is going to get destroyed. Detroit has that effect on QBs.

                    As long as Millen is allowed to stay, every management decision made in Detroit will be rightly questioned.

                    The Bears are getting POUNDED on local sports radio for failing to address offensive needs. Could have had Marcedes Lewis TE, Sinorice Moss WR, etc.
