Have muslim prisoners rioted over toilet direction? How much has incorrect toilet direction cost thus far?
Can you tell me how many billions of pounds were lost because the warden took the time to hear the prisoners' concerns?
You're making a totally absurd argument. You must reailize that.

Just so I'm clear on it.....
Those of you who are actually arguing in favor of such nonsense as this, your position is that we "shouldn't antagonize the poor prisoners" by making them sit facing Mecca when taking a dump.
Morale had been dropping in jail, because they had to face Mecca while taking a dump?
Is that about right?
If so....and if I may make a couple of haphazard observations:
* If facing Mecca while taking a dump is so troubling to them that their "morale is suffering" then maybe they should reflect on the fact that they are in JAIL, as opposed to daycamp.
* If it's that big a deal, then they can learn to hold it....for a very long time.
* What's next? If a group of them claim to be spiritually deprived cos they don't have a tennis court, should we build that too? If we don't, isn't that snubbing the cult of tennis playing islamics, in preference for their more prayer-centric cousins? And why stop there? I'm sure you could find at least a few prisoners who feel spirtually deflated by not having a whorehouse on the prison grounds. Let's add one! And a shopping mall, and a....
Where do I sign up, man...this is a great gig!
That this is even being discussed is a) embarassing to England, and b) a new low, even for 'poly OT.
*shakes head, amazed*

Not pointlessly pissing prisoners off protects society. Giving them a modicum of compassion decreases our taxes, and makes them less of a threat when they're released. And being in prison doesn't mean you're inhuman, believe it or not.
QFT!
By Cali's rationale, we should ban chaplains and Bibles, because it may give prisoners happiness, and it is supposed to be punishment!“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Right, Cali, and obviously you're in a position to know what they're thinking. Muslims are mindless killing automatons that react negatively to compassion.
Obviously it affects morale enough that they're lobbying the warden, so contributes to their unhappiness.

What's next? Ban Bibles because they cost money and pay make the prisioners happier in their spiritual life?“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.
