Seriously-- we had photos the next day. Companies like Chevron had evacuated all Gulf personnel

    • In addition, some important support facilities like Port Fourchon, got pretty trashed. Most of the supplies / parts, etc are ferried out to the rigs from there, and they just got fully back up an running last week. This probably didn't ever appear on the evening news.

Nope--- a storm like that-- they evacuate the platforms and usually cease both drilling and production (to prevent a major spill). There might be exceptions but I tend to think that would be the general procedure

        • I don't really know the location of the major drilling fields in the Gulf. I had no clue if they were even near the storm's path.

Not to be too simplistic but my recollection is that the Gulf has drilling pretty much EVERYWHERE ( except the protected coastal areas like Florida)

I think I had Kaak convinced . He couldn't dispute any of my points

AS for kidicious, I hope he never goes into business. I can see him in bankruptcy court with a dazed look saying " But it was a sure thing . . . Some other folks that were in the business 30 years made an 18% rate of return one year
