and just like Bootcamp, you'd be wise to avoid first generations or betas to avoid all the little quirks. Also, Acer has been making PC notebooks for much longer. And they certaintly do not make the Macbook, sorry to inform you.
Last I heard Acer made the MacBook Pro and Asus is making the MacBook.

I ought to call attention to the fact that Asher cited Anandtech.

Anand has had a couple of minor problems with his MacBook Pro. Nevertheless, from the same article:

When I first started using a PowerBook G4 over a year ago it quickly turned into the best experience I'd ever had with a notebook

Despite my complaints, I still wouldn't part with it. The PowerBook G4 was the best notebook I had ever owned

The problems I encountered with the MacBook Pro are definitely bothersome, but they aren't enough for me to personally want to opt for a non-Mac notebook.

So even the "terrible" problems noted by Asher are still not enough to make it worthwhile for Anand to go back to the Dark Side.

People who buy non-Apple computers need their heads read.

Personally I would argue that Dell and Apple share a lot in common...

hey, Kuciwalker, you still at the Stuyvesant of the South?

Anand's personal opinions aren't worth noting.

I don't see how someone this day and age can live with a notebook computer with under 5 hours of battery life. If you're going to have it plugged in all the time, you're best off with a real computer.

Not everyone is as rich as you, and even if they were and all bought Apple the hacker criminals would write stuff to attack Apples instead.

we beat Stuyvesant in most categories despite having more than a thousand fewer students. But I'll only be here for a couple more months, and then I'm in Pittsburg.
