Just to make sure what kind of card it is?
    PCI-E? AGP?
    GForce 5200, must be AGP!

If you try to enable your Inboard card? Does it change something.

If you enable your inboard card, go in the bios and see if you need to activate some option, something related about agp/pci port???

f you have a separate video card, you can skip this step. This applies to you guys with integrated video circuitry on your motherboard. Some computers don't have a video card, but instead the monitor plugs into the motherboard. In this case, you must disable this circuitry before installing a separate card. You may need your motherboard's manual for this one, but most of them nowadays disable onboard video automatically. If not, you may have to disable it in the BIOS or change a small switch or jumper to flip that disables this.
Also, Apple is offering a $200 discount for university students, if this does not work (that means $1799 for a Mac Book pro, holy **** )

Why buy the MacBook Pro when Acer (who makes the MacBook Pro) has a significantly faster laptop for cheaper?

You're paying for the name and the privledge of paying $100 a year for trivial OS upgrades and a tiny amount of software that will actually run on your computer.

It's not the card because I already had the card replaced once. When i hook the monitor up to the new card after disabling the integrated card, I get a black screen like I unplugged my monitor from my computer and it does that from the minute I boot up. It's like my computer doesn't recognize that there's a video card there; it's completely dead. The bios is set to auto so it uses the add in card instead of the integrated card. Everything has been checked and rechecked 80 different times to no avail. I can't ****ing figure why this piece of **** won't work. **** Dell.

You have dust in your AGP slot. Spray it with water.

It's not an AGP slot, it's a normal PCI slot. IT'S NOT DUST SO STOP ****ING ASKING ME TO SPRAY WATER ON IT.

Go to Dell Office, open the door with your foot, and throw up your computer in the face of salesman.

PCI slot? Maybe you have some bacteria growing there.

                  Try spraying it with Lysol.

First, link me to the acer laptop you speak of. Can't seem to find it on my end.

Trivial OS upgrades are optional. It runs Windows, btw.
