Now your living situation isn't ideal. What makes you think you'd get a crappy job in NZ but a better one in Singapore? I think you have two choices - find a place to live and stay in Singapore, or fly back to NZ and get a job there. Staying for a moment longer than necessary in exs house isn't an issue.

Is the house owned by your ex, or is it rented by both of you? If the former, point taken, though if the latter, since she was the one who chose to end it, she should move out.

And remember, once you've found a nice place and a nicer girlfriend, decide to go back to church again. Just to show her you're living better, and the man she should have stayed with.

Personally, I felt much better when I left Stuttgart to come back to Paris.

The few monthes I've spent in Stuttgart after my breakup (She was the only actual reason I was in Stuttgart that year, despite the excuses in which I believed), well, these monthes were the worst of my post-breakup agony. We were still way too close. I was still seeing her too often, and I couldn't get past her.

Coming back to France (at home: my parents have provided a great emotional comfort) has really changed things. My ex and I stopped contacting each other, at my initiative, and she now really belongs to my past. I've made new friends here, and I continue to see the old friends because I have strong binds with them.

Being back home makes me living in a location where I can think in terms of "my future", and not anymore in terms of "my future with her"
