Jon Stewart will always have a place in my heart for his Bush imitation, but it's getting old.

Stewart's Bush imitation is my least favorite part of the Daily Show. It's not a good imitation to begin with, which makes the fact that he does it almost every single time there's a mention of Bush on the show inexplicable. I got sick of it months ago and now it's becoming increasingly grating.

Stuwart is more subtle and is funnier.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

No, it's not a good imitation. But it's funny as **** for some reason.

Colbert still seems forced. Stewart is comfortable in the chair Colbert doesn't look like he is yet.

Some of the parody ventures into the ridiculous (Colbert's inexplicable loathing of bears), and is not properly satire (unless you believe his subjects hold similar psychological fixations).
The bear thing comes from Bill O'Reilly, the guy Colbert is playing. O'Reilly does cautionary pieces usually about the liberal lifestyle even going so far as to criticise a San Diego couple for their swinging lifestyle when their daughter was abducted and murdered by a neighborhood pedophile. So when bears eat some naturist up in Alaska Bill lets us know all about it. Or when bears become a problem in Jersey.

                That's a bit of a stretch.

I like Stewart's opening news commentary, but it goes downhill from there. They usually do some "human interest" piece which is okay and can be funny followed by an interview of some celeb which is even less interesting. Interviews of politicos are worth watching though.

Colbert keeps it going for the entire half hour. He's too busy flapping his gums when he has a good guest I want to hear. But thats about my only gripe, otherwise his show has...gasp...become better than Stewarts. I'd still watch Stewart's opening over Colberts though...

Stewart's interviews suck. Colbert actively tries to "nail" them in his own loopy way, while Stewart just panders to them.

                        The Mercer Report is god-f*cking-awful.

                          Bill O'Reilly = "Papa Bear"
Then he talks about how dangerous bears are.

This must be Colbert's un-subtle nature Alva reffered to.

                            The Repor(t).

Colbert's interviews are far better than Stewart's (although, when Stewart has a good guest and he's not softballing, his interviews can be excellent), and the Word is pure brilliance.

You are one of the most unfunny posters here, as evidenced by this pathetic attempt. I can't stand the Mercer report, nor can I stand Rick Mercer.
