Yeah, you may call that a relative popularity.

      2) Belarus is much much more authoritarian than Ukraine was.
Belarus is more democratic than current "orange Ukraine" or "rose Georgia"

      3) Belarus, thanks to Lukashenko, was nowhere near to such sh!tholes like Ukraine and Georgia. And now, after some time your lackeys ruling in Ukraine and Georgia (who ruined there every thing they could), Belarus is lightyears ahead of them.

Both Belorussia and Ukraine have been subsidised by Russia since the collapse of the USSR. However, Ukraine failed where Belarus succeded. Comparing to Ukraine they were living in heaven and surely lives in heaven now, after the victory of your belowed orange pro-western, pro-democratic liberals. No wounder they support their president, they've seen what happens when western puppets took power in former Soviet republics.

And as for lower energy prices for Byelorussia, it's true NOW (but once again - Ukraine or Georgia were in the same position few years ago, but were unable to reach the level of Byelorussian economy growth), I see nothing wrong with that, considering that Belorus is our ally. We are living in a union state and on our way to complete integration. So, it's none of your beussiness whom we sell energy at reduced price and whom we demand to pay a full price - it's our bussiness, nobody else.

Saddam got 99% of the vote in Iraq. It was only because of the standard of living for Iraqis .

"no change since Soviet times" - it's already a great achivement by itself most of the former Soviet republics failed to achieve. Among former Soviet republic Belarus enjoys the highest standard of living after the Baltic states and Russia. In terms of poverty it's on top among of entire former Soviet block (including East Europeans countries), and plays in the same league as Hungary and the Batic states. The rest of the Soviet republics are nowhere near. So, all those Ukraines and Georgias can go to hell (ironically these two were among the top prosperous Soviet republics, esp. Gerorgia - now it's a complete sh!thole after being a US puppet for just a decade)

I don't really believe in sanctions. They seldom work.
But at least the EU is thinking about doing something about a dictatorship in the middle of the continent.
Now you can find more "dictatorshiping" in Ukraine and Georgia.
                Hands of Belarus!!!

Aside Belarus, as far as I know, the elections in Iraq were monitored by nobody. And sure there were no public-opinion polls held by foreigner organizations that indicated the clear lead of the current president before the elections.

p.s. And if you ask modern Iraqis, I'm sure they would preffer to stay under his dictatorship than your "democracy".

You are talking about the wrong country. What you meant is Ukraine, not Belarus.

                        Yeah, sure
Three hundreds of jerks could protest for all they care. It doesn't make them a "massive demonstration".

                          True

Death penalties for protesters, if that is true, certainly sounds grim,
This "death penalty" crap is invented by BBC.

but Western intervention is likely to make things worse, rather than better for the people of that country.

[Polish crap starts:] And we have no German land. Seriously, it belonged to Germany for some time, part of it was inhabited by a German majority, but calling it "German land" does not sound good. Like I wouldn't call western Byelorus of western Ukraine or eastern Lithuania or whatever Polish land, even if it belonged to Poland for a couple of centuries and some of it became majorly Polish. But back to topic: [Polish crap ends]

                                Blah-blah-blah.

                                Poland supports independance of Byelorus.
More like Poland supports Polish puppeting of Byelorus, because Belarus is independent since 1991.

We really do and care, while Europeans f.e. think that it makes no sense to broadcast to Byelorus in Byelorussian, if majority speaks Russian. Today polish parliamentarist Jagiello was taken by KGB, tomorrow he's on trial for that he spoke with some people in Polish in a restaurant.
The majority of Byelorussians DO SPEAK Russian, because they consider it as their native language. It doesn't called ByeloRUS (White Russia) for nothing.
