  • car experts- I need your advice on buying a new car

I'm thinking of buying a brand new 2006 Mustang. Although I may buy one that is one or two years old. I haven't exactly decided. The used ones will be much cheaper as most cars lose most of their value that first year. But then again, you never know how the previous owner treated it. Who knows if they got regular oil changes etc.

And I admit the last vehicle I bought (my current 1995 dodge) I did not haggle over the price. Big mistake. I feel I can do that now. As I was able to do it over my house. Although I still shouldn't have gave them a price as high as I did. But I was worried about someone else snatching my house that I really wanted. There is no worry here, as there are plenty of cars and dealerships to choose from in my city. I feel I can do better at haggling this time around.

What kind of options should I get? I'm probably going to pre-finance through my bank, that is usually the best way to go I hear. Yeah I know, I could wait till my house is paid off later this year, and then save up the cash and pay cash for my car. But that could take another year and a half. I don't want to wait that long. It's not often I have the need to splurge. But now is the time. I did it 11 years ago, and I'm ready to do it again. Yeah I know this is not an investment. This money will be going down the drain. But who cares. I'm tired of saving all this money and not ever using it.

Now why is it on the official Ford website, I can't find the price of the damn car. I guess I'll have to go to the dealership websites. As I'm sure the price varies region to region.

Darn...I know there's a site the compares cars and their prices. Strangely, it's a guy's first name, but I can't think of it.

It's a good idea to go to various dealers and get them bidding against each other. Last time out, I was looking at the Mustang, the Miata, the Mitsubishi Probe Spyder, the Toyota Spyder, and some other cars.

I thought Mitsubishi had the best engineering. It offered a 6-cylindar car which cost about the same as the other's 4-cylindars and which got the same gas milage. I ended up with the Miata because I needed a very short car to get into a certain parking spot...but I'm very happy with it.

lets see if this link works

I don't know what the smokers package is, don't care for it. But everything else looks cool. I'm restraining myself from going out and buying it right now. I need to be smart about this.

There is something rotten here - either you are paid way high or that car is pretty cheap where you live. Here that piece of metal costs in the vicinity of $ 100k.

Are you talking about the link to the Mustang? The price there is $28,410, which is pretty good for a Mustang, especially the sporty version they have there.

We have a saying - pay for three, get one when we talk about buying a new car - we have a 180 % tax on them

                Oh, I almost forgot the 25 % VAT - I don't know if it's added before or after those 180 %.

Those $28k is pretty close to the local price of the newest ford mondeo

What the christ? a 180% TAX? I have never heard anything so dumb.

                      Jesus christ.

In USA, florida we have a 7% tax on all cars. For 35,000$ I can buy a 300C with all the amenities of a Rolls-Royce.

Don't buy a car, esp. not something such as a Mustang.

don't by the 'stang secondhand. Sports cars are driven hard by their owners, with attendent wear and tear

The Price Declination within the First Year is Extreme, its quite possible you would be better off Leasing it?
