Desperation has set in, if criticizing someone trying something new is the best effort.
Timex nailed it.
I doubt those who are having fun with Bush's antics in trying cricket really believe this is on the par with criticiziing Bush on important issues. It's just another avenue for us who oppose to Bush to point and laugh at him -- there's nothing to seriously criticize here in regards to how he ****ed up in Iraq, for example.

The best part of intimidatory bowling is when the batsmen goes down hurt the first person to run up and help is the bowler
Typical conversation:
Bowler: Are you alright mate?
Batsman: Yeah, I just need to put my eye back in its socket and I'll be fine
AH, now you got my interest up.....
I wonder if this ever gets televised?
I also wonder in your descriptions uf the US of A would water it down
I would actually like to see this sport now
Like Rugby, I never thought much of it til I watched it a few times
Cricket is like croquet with a Brit accent. So what?

Thanks for enlightening me
Well, I watched a game yesterday, and the bowler bowled a ball which, travelling at 90 MPH, bounced up and hit the batsman (a very good one too) on the helmet by the temple. Two balls later he was out when potentially he could have lasted nearly a hundred. Hurting someone is part of the strategy.
There are many reasons I prefer cricket to baseball.
1) When I bat, if I bat well, I get rewarded by being able to bat longer, as opposed to baseball where if you bat well you sit on the bench quicker
2) With cricket I can hit the ball anywhere in the 360 circle, whereas you're far more restricted in baseball. You can be a lot more creative batting wise in cricket.
3) When I bowl I have all sorts of tricks to fool the batsman. I can also set my fielders to create pressure on the batsman, try to stop runs, etc, whereas with baseball it's one vanilla field.
4) Stunning fielding brings about higher rewards than baseball. In cricket, you basically get one chance to bat in the entire game, so if you get that guy out, it means a lot more than baseball, where potentially you have to get that same guy out 3 or 4 times.
There are more too I just find cricket is a better challenge than baseball. Brute force may win in the short term, but creativity and technique often win out on the day. There are so many variables in the game, from the type of pitch to where your guys are fielding to the types of balls you bowl to the type of shot you play...

I played Croquet as a child, but the way AH describes it it would be somewhere between UFC-Pride fighting, wrassling and Rugby
He's overexaggerating, of course. I never saw even one injury while watching cricket in Pakistan.

I don't know why Americans are so against cricket. They love baseball and cricket is a very similar game - the batter against the pitcher and the field - statistics galore, the atmosphere, the way it builds up, its all very similar.
Personally I think its because in cricket only one of the fielders gets to be a pansy and wear gloves...
