Are both you and Aggie incapable of reading the sources I've provided? It flies directly in the face of your repeated assertions over the years.
The source isn't Microsoft, they're many independent security experts and researchers. It's time to pull the fingers out of your ears."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

The iPod boombox only exists because Apple has obviously been selling a ton of those Bose and JBL sounddocks and wanted to get in on the action. After all, why would you want someone walking out of your store with someone else's $300 peripheral?
The people who buy those will be the same people who buy the Bose stuff and those daft Tivoli radios.
The hype around it is misplaced. It and the revised mini were supposed to debut as minor updates at Macworld, but weren't ready in time. The mac community hyped the media event despite Apple's attempts to downplay it.Only feebs vote.

Anyway, who cares about the daft boombox? The real news is Apple's forthcoming touch screen iPod (4" display) and announcement of the iTunes movie store. The patent filings for this device were made public not long ago and it's reasonably clear what it's going to look like.
Now that Apple has completely demolished all the other digital audio player companies (including lame old Creative) and has marginalized all the other download services, this one ought to be a no-brainer.
I'm guessing this is aimed for April 1st (which is the company's 30th anniversary), and will be Apple's anniversary product (new iPod socks would be better than the 20th anniversary Macintosh).Only feebs vote.

Touchscreen iPod --> screen scratches, thumb prints, and non-tactile response interface. Hooray?
It's the Video iPod, it seems to be complementary to the iPod with Video. Video iPod is for people who watch video mostly, iPod with Video for people who listen to music mostly."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Also, is the 4" video iPod still going to use 320x240 video? What about people who bought older videos on iTMS with 320x240?
Either way, messy..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Apple bitten by own words
March 2, 2006 2:30 PM PST
With the old G4 version of the Mac Mini, Apple made a lot out of the fact the diminuitive desktop had a standalone graphics card.
Rather than just tout its own graphics power, Apple took a swipe at many low-end Windows PCs, which use integrated graphics chips that share memory and processor power with the rest of the PC.
"Go ahead, just try to play Halo on a budget PC," Apple said. "Most say they're good for 2D games only. That's because an 'integrated Intel graphics' chip steals power from the CPU and siphons off memory from system-level RAM."
That's all well and good. But now comes the new Intel-based Mac Mini. And guess what, it has integrated graphics too. The folks at Macworld spotted Apple's problem and noted that the company took down that old page from its Web site.
Now Apple has a new page, one that touts the new Mac Mini, its Intel Core processor and, yes, integrated graphics.
"Mac mini features a graphics processor integrated into the system, and one that's no slouch, to boot," Apple says on the new site. "The Intel GMA950 graphics supports Tiger Core Graphics and the latest 3D games. It shares fast 667MHz memory4 with the Intel Core processor, for an incredible value proposition."
Yeah, I guess calling it a power-stealing siphon hose wouldn't have sounded too good."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Honestly, I'm curious. Is it that necessary to expect Asher to bash Macs? It's almost as if you're begging him to, and since it's something he does so readily...
When MNG kept posting about Apple's latest and greatest, even if it really was just a version bump, it got tiring. Now, when /. reports that Apple's releasing something next week, but it doesn't know what it is yet, it's just as annoying.
I for one was kinda glad that Asher doesn't post a new Apple rant as often as MNG or /. gave Apple free publicity, but...
Well, guess ****heads are just as intent at wanting any attention for Apple, good or bad.B♭3
