The consensus of the security experts is MacOS X is increasingly being targetted, and Apple is not equipped to handle it. You choose to ignore that, but that doesn't make it less true.

I can't recall any instance in computer threads where you have been correct, and that is quite an accoplishment that even Urban Ranger can't claim.

There's more to it, of course.

Not only is this typical of Apple's highway robbery, but it's typical of them squeezing out their 3rd party supporters and angering them. They do that all the time with software on their OS, and then wonder why it doesn't have nearly as many apps on it as Windows does.

MS embraces the third party companies as part of their ecosystem -- Apple embracess them and then runs them out of business by competing with quality products (like Bose and AltecLansings' stuff) with their own crap: overpriced stuff but with the Apple logo on it.
