Untill TSN and sportsnet writes more, I have to believe some draft picks are involved. Colorado depending on a hurt goalie for the playoffs?

It's not just that he's hurt, he seems to be in the middle of a meltdown. On top of that, he makes $4.5 million vs. Aebischer's $1.9 million.

- Kings get Parish and Sopel from NYI for Grebeshkov, Tambellini and conditional third round pick

- Toronto, showing it's usual level of genius, make two deals: Luke Richardson from Columbus for a fifth and conditional fourth round picks; Suglobov from New Jersey for Ken Klee. All the way to the Cup, baby!

His free market value will be increased considerably if he is the starter for a team that goes past the first round of the playoffs, and where he was the answer to among the worst goaltending problems in the league.

This is Roloson's dream shot. Get hot and add the digits at the front of those 6 zeros. And yes, the Oil would give him a significant raise if he fits and is a large part of a second or third round trip. A third round pick would be chump change.

Furthermore, I would imagine his value would be diminished as a backup on a team that finishes out of the playoffs.

Not sure I understand this one from the Oilers' perspective. Roloson is a good goalie, but he's a free agent this post-season and he's not the kind of guy you rent at the deadline for a playoff run. If they do resign him, they have to give Minnesota another third round draft pick.

The Oilers think the future is very near.

Late this year, or next is when things may well click with this lot.

The goaltending has been the only consistent sore spot.

Now we'll see if MacTavish survives to coach again next year. Last night he yanked a goalie who had two wins in a row, and was good enough that game to win a point from Dallas, to give a rookie who hadn't faced a shot all game the burden of the team in the shoot out.

I can't understand why Lowe hasn't *****ed him out about his mismanagement of goalies. If MacT continues, and Roloson flops, MacT better be gone.

Colorado still is sort of in a money crunch due to the salary cap, right? That's probably why If they make the playoffs, good for them, but I don't think anyone in Denver is really expecting anything big this year

If Colorado was in a money crunch, picking up a player who makes almost 2.5 times their current starting goaltender doesn't make much sense.
