Silly me. When someone makes a point out of how many shots a team gets with out scoring, I tend to assume they are talking about how crappy their offence is.

As for the crap ice excuse, it didn't stop Vancouver from scoring twice.

It was a very close game, and Vancouver didn't lose many solid shots due to choppy ice.

Edmonton loses 4-2. Morrison is awesome with 1 goal on 2 shots. Impressive.

It's not very often you lose a game 4-2 when you outshoot the other team 37-12.

The goal against Morrison would have gone in 99 times out of 100 against any goalie in the league. Puck sprung loose to a winger who wired a howitzer top right from 15 feet.

The problem was the first 3 on 10 shots, and SL being able to pile 5 players back for the rest of the game.

And our forwards missing the net when they had similar chances.

It's very frustrating watching a team that can't score outside of point shots.

And the fact that Markannnnnennnnnennnnnn is still considered a starter.

Kevin Lowe is a terrible GM, MacTavish is a terrible coach, and the owners apparently don't pay attention.

... and with all that, and the goaltending problem, Calgary is only ahead by 5 points with Kipper, Phaneuf, and Iggy.

Sort of makes you think, don't it?

Not really. Considering no one can score on the team, and we're #3 in the West and #1 in the NW, I think it's pretty good.

Edmonton has offensive depth, decent defense, terrible goalies and abysmal management.

Calgary has shallow offense with lots of streaky players, league's best defense, awesome goalie, and great management.

Result is Edmonton will bow early out of the playoffs, Calgary will roll on. The Calgary style of play works well in the post-season.

Edmonton is lucky to be where they are, to be honest.

I do think it's pretty funny how you always have to qualify it by comparing how well it is to Calgary.

Edmonton is second last in the division and "only 5 points" from the basement.

Perspective is fun. #1 is everything. Suck it up, old man.

I think it's pretty funny that you feel a need to dump on every other team around you when the Flames are obviously not that great to start with.

Stanley Cup favourites?

I don't dump on every other team.

Toronto just sucks, Edmonton is just a joke, and Vancouver is a bit funny too. Even if they make the finals (Vancouver that is), they won't last without a real goalie.

They're made fun of because they're funny.

Calgary is a real threat, we're missing one part of the equation in that we have no one to make our top line actually work. Once that's in, booyah baby!

Nope. They won't build a new arena. They've had a kind of common sense revolution over there in the past year. Hell, they even elected 4 Conservative MPs.
