And there are varying degrees about what they go after. Some just go after men in their 40's. But some go after men in their 50's and 60's. I couldn't imagine having sex with a wrinkly man. But that's just my personal preference.
My modest answer to that question is : Because men are in short supply and a wrinkly man is better than no man at all.

Is "wrinkly man" a french euphemism for penis?

Penis is a concept which has to be treated with reverence; therefore it has many flattering or pleasant synonyms, but nothing disrecpecfully euphemistic.

          More money
          More desperate
More unattractive so less likely to stray
More likely to be ready to settle down and have kids/buy a cat

Having said that, I cannot understand how there could be sexual attractio between someone my age and, say someone in their fifties. Too much odd hair and wrinkles; it takes a hell of a lot of money to make up for no sex life.

To be fair to the older men, this depends a lot on how they take care of themselves, just like the women.

The real reason? We're not "trying to find ourself" anymore. We forgot about that during a grey moment.

There are many reasons I can imagine, ranging from $ to stability to just the fact that it can be difficult to find someone you just feel right with, and thus age becomes secondary.

My father is 22.5 years older than my mom. They were both divorced when they met. They've been happily married for 30+ years. I think my mother was attracted because of my dad's maturity & life experience, and because they generally shared certain goals in life. He also had the cool foreigner thing going on (he's a Brit, or was, and has a bit of an accent, which I'm sure was more obvious back then). Money most likely wasn't the thing, since his divorce left him w/o assets. He was, however, a pretty high-level executive with a salary that was larger than what my wife and I currently make combined, three decades later.

It isn't money in all cases. Playful and I met while I wasn't working, and nothing on the horizon. I might point out she's 10 years my junior.
Perfect scenario for not suspecting her, but appreciating her. She damn sure wasn't after my money.

Thats another take. I suspect the reasons differ greatly if we are talkign women that go for guys 3-5,6-10 or 20+ years older.

heck 3-5 years might matter a lot when a woman is 18-20ish but by age 25, I don't see a woman dating a 30yr old as that big a deal.

and I think it just matters less in your 30s. If I were dating I don't see any reaason why I would hesitateto date a woman older than me. I would think my range would likely be 10 years EITHER way unless I met someone particularly amazing that blew my preconceptions all to hell.

The 20 year gaps . . in general; I don't believe most people with that gap will have a whole lot in common BUT there is enough variation in individuals that a small proportion finding real happiness with partners 20+ years older/younger does not shock me.

But when I see Anna Nicole whatsherface with a wrinkled 80 year old I just say "its the money"

I don't know your age but assuming early 20s, I don't get it either. I also don't see what a 30ish man would see in a women in her 60s when it comes to physical attractiveness
