Soak it in hot, soapy water. Then scrub it. Repeat as needed.

Additionally, simmer for a while if it is particularly stuck to the bottom of the pan...add some detergent...it will come off a treat...Speaking of Erith:

Or better yet, buy a rice cooker (DrSpike's got one so they must be economically worthwhile.

I have found a saucepan to be more than adequate for rice cooking. And believe me, I cook a mean rice
