What is the Falklands War controversy? I can't imagine anyone can blame the UK's retarded policy of abandoning conventional carriers on her.
To my mind, its the sinking of the Belgrano.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.
Well, Just because I say I will definetly sink enemy ships that enter an exclusion zone, doesn't mean I can't maybe sink them anywhere else.

GOTCHA!
provost what happened last time eh, with you and laz, then again i guess that wasn't really a fair fight...
anyway, labour spent 18 years in opposition and tony blair had to take on many thatcherite ideas just to get elected in 1997, and has carried a lot of them through to the present day, says a lot about her legacy.

IIRC, you got toasted...
Gotcha? Damn, compared to Gulf War II, the Falklands pale in significance. My issues with Thatcher - the destruction of any kind of ability for the working class to fight back, which has been continued by Blair...and then there's the poll tax...sheesh.
And Blair emulating Thatcher? Of course he has! But I challenge you to dig up anything where I have supported Blair...

To be fair, she was a b*tch to the working class in the short term, plus had some dubious policies on personal freedoms, there's also controversy on the need to go to war with Argies over Falklands.
However, on a net basis, I can's see why some Brits complain. Britain would be a basketcase if not for her.
Britain did need reforms after the socialist (old Labor) leadership of the 1970's however she did a piss poor job of doing it. The Socialists had nationalized most of the heavy industry and Thatcher just dumped 90% of them off to die instead of taking the slightly more expensive but better over the longer turn approach of a phased privitization. She also starved most of the remaining nationalized companies insuring that virtually all of them went bankrupt. She is the reason Britain went from the most industrialized state in western Europe to the least industrialized state (judged by domestic industrial output).
Sadly this could have been avoided if a longer term approach had been adopted. She should have slowly weened them off of government subsidies allowing the companies to adapt to the new environment instead of going cold turkey and forcing nearly all of them into Bankruptcy.
