  • No one coerced him, he made the trade of his own free will.

Huet is a legit upgrade for him in net, if he had Huet he wouldn't have forfeitted 3 categories last week to me.

If he has second thoughts, I'll trade Kariya back for Huet.

To be honest, it's getting a bit tiring to have so many people get their panties in a twist because they disagree with a trade. Especially from the guy I'm competing against this week -- that one was rich. The simple fact is, if you looked at his teams, he barely got 1 goalie game last week. Period. A hot goaltender that's in a starting position is definitely an upgrade for him.

Maybe you should've offered him a good goalie for a player instead.

This is one of the reasons I found voting stupid, because the guy I'm competing against can vote against the trade because it'll improve my team.

    • It's a cheap, cheap trade. If we still had trade oversight in the league, it would have been blocked. I wonder... what ever happened to that, anyway?

      • No one spoke in favor of keeping it. Even after it was brought up again a month ago.

I strongly suggest you drop it...

        • Or what? You'll throw another hissy fit and quit the league again?

            • We've already gone over this no-trade-voting thing. Twice.

I've said repeatedly if most people said they wanted to keep it, we would. The fact is, I don't recall anyone saying they wanted to keep it.

Now that you're competing against me this week, I make a trade that improves my team and you start crying and wishing you could stop it. You see the problem with that?

As I said, if Boo changes his mind I'll trade Kariya back for Huet. The trade improves his goaltender stats significantly, it is an upgrade for him. That one player would have won him 3 of the categories last week, for instance, instead of losing all 3.

Read the fair play rules dejon posted, and suck it up.

              • I think I have been consistent in criticising the removal of trade oversight.

Those rules dejon posted are for you, champ.

                1. All league-related transactions will be executed with the intent of improving the owner's team and/or its standing within the league.
                2. No owner may drop or "dump" players from their team for any reason other than improving their own team and/or its standing within the league.
                3. No owner will engage in any action that may be deemed to be collusive (two or more owners agreeing to make moves that benefit one team, but not the other).
                4. No owner will make any roster moves (including waiver claims, trade proposals, etc.) whose sole purpose is to hamper the play of other owners.
                5. No owner will take any action whose purpose is to, in any way, interfere with fair play in a league.
I'd say you're easily in violation of 3 and 5, and arguably 4. Boo is also violating rule 1.

                • My posting of the rules link was not in response to the trade so much as it was to Boo's comment about giving up and helping someone else - that's the no-no.

Edit: To make it clear - I would have no problem with the trade in the absence of that comment. People make trades all the time that some observers think are lopsided, it's the motivation I have an issue with. If Boo is happy with the trade and to have a (currently) better goalie, fine. If in light of the rules reminder he questions himself, then I think it should be reversed.

                  • 1) There was no collusion. Look up the word.
                    2) My intent was not at all to hamper the play of any other owners. The intent of the trade was to upgrade my team, and to do that I offered him a player that would upgrade his team. He barely had 1 goalie game last week...

                    What planet are you on?

Look at Boo's performance last week and tell me Huet is not an upgrade for his team.

                    What whiners, honestly...

When Boo says, we'll I'm done anyway, so better to support a team that has a chance to win, things are looked on a bit suspiciously.

That makes no sense. Salo and Thorton both return the same kind of points.

Boo was lucky to get 1 goalie game last week. He needed a solid starter, period.

That's not my fault at all, I did not collude with him. In fact, our discussion on the trade is public in this very thread.

He accepted the trade and then gave that excuse, and I did reply to it saying that's not the attitude he should have, and I've offered to undo the trade if he so wishes.

joncha's whining is just rich, considering I'm battling him this week and he's making the most noise. Go figure.

                            • No, I'm complaining because you have a habit of bs moves, and you removed any controls against them. Last time it was NYE's fault for complaining because he was your closest competitor, now it's mine. Funny how you're never to blame.

That's fine - we'll just have to hear his feelings on it.
