    Hamas's charter: The martyrs' oath

"Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious...The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah's victory is realised...

The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine. The Muslim Brotherhood Movement is a universal organization which constitutes the largest Islamic movement in modern times...

It strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine, for under the wing of Islam followers of all religions can coexist in security and safety where their lives, possessions and rights are concerned...

The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the links in the chain of the struggle against the Zionist invaders. It goes back to 1939, to the emergence of the martyr Izz al-Din al Kassam and his brethren the fighters, members of Muslim Brotherhood. It goes on to reach out and become one with another chain that includes the struggle of the Palestinians and Muslim Brotherhood in the 1948 war and the Jihad operations of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1968 and after...

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said: 'The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him...'
Resisting and quelling the enemy become the individual duty of every Muslim, male or female. A woman can go out to fight the enemy without her husband's permission, and so does the slave: without his master's permission...

There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors. The Palestinian people know better than to consent to having their future, rights and fate toyed with...

The day The Palestinian Liberation Organization adopts Islam as its way of life, we will become its soldiers, and fuel for its fire that will burn the enemies...

The Zionist invasion is a vicious invasion... It relies greatly in its infiltration and espionage operations on the secret organizations it gave rise to, such as the Freemasons, The Rotary and Lions clubs, and other sabotage groups. All these organizations, whether secret or open, work in the interest of Zionism and according to its instructions...

We should not forget to remind every Muslim that when the Jews conquered the Holy City in 1967, they stood on the threshold of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and proclaimed that 'Mohammed is dead, and his descendants are all women.'

Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge Islam and the Muslim people. 'May the cowards never sleep.'

      • "We are before a situation that leads me to register my concern. I hope the conditions which are indispensable for working with whatever Palestinian government can be fulfilled.

First, the renunciation of violence and agreeing to move forward according to the peace objectives that have been fixed.

And second, recognition of the state of Israel and international agreements. "

"Posted 1:30 PM by Patrick Belton

TALKED WITH HANAN ASHRAWI downstairs just now. Not mincing words, she expressed utter disbelief in the Hamas 2.0 hypothesis, said she would not be open to joining a coalition with the party and told me that she thought Hamas would bring the West Bank and Gaza into theocracy. On the other hand, she'd just finished several months of running against the party. Take your pick"

            • The Rotary?

Almost as ridiculously paranoid as those idiots who thought that Hugo Chavez made anti-semitic comments....

You guys just have to deal with Hamas and stop your racist whining in support of apartheid.
              Only feebs vote.

              • I find it rich people talking about Hamas having to recognise the right of Israel to exist...

What about China and Taiwan - but we're still nice to them...

                China and Tibet?

Or even. Dare I say it... The US and Cuba...

Oh dear, yet more hypocrisy from the people who only want to deal with the people they like - even if they're democratically elected...

One question though, what's going to happen to Israel's assassination policy now all the Hamas members are going to become part of a democratically elected govt?
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

What racist whining? Care to point it out? You do know that racism is a serious accusation? As much so as antisemite?

Israel is an apartheid state - ergo it is racist.

China is a member state of the UN, Tibet has never been. Tibet is in fact part of China under international law.

Israel is a state. The PA wants to become one. To do so, it must show itself contributing to peace in the region.

Or even. Dare I say it... The US and Cuba...

Please tell me the last time the US asked for economic aid from Cuba? And of course the US does NOT call for the destruction of Cuba (as Hamas does wrt Israel) we DO refrain from diplomatic relations, over a dispute about uncompensated property.

Oh dear, yet more hypocrisy from the people who only want to deal with the people they like - even if they're democratically elected...

As said, we have a right to deal with or not deal with whomever we want. Being democratically elected puts us under no obligation to give aid to anyone.

One question though, what's going to happen to Israel's assassination policy now all the Hamas members are going to become part of a democratically elected govt?

Hamas members who commit or plan acts of terror against Israel will be subject to attack, those who dont wont, is my understanding of what the Israelis are saying today. In fact they havent attacked Hamas leaders in months - theyve been focusing on Islamic Jihad.

Ergo anyone who doesnt share your belief that Israel is an apartheid state, SHOULD share our concerns about Hamas.

                          Thank you.

                          • Hillary is just spouting the EU line. Very similar to the EU President's comments.

For good or ill, the Palestinians have voted. If they have chosen wisely or poorly, only time will tell. There have been some moderate signals out of Hamas.

While I disagree with their choice, I am glad they had the opportunity to make it.

Here is hoping that Hamas will transform into a political entity and that the "military wing" will begin to fade in significance. This is as much a crossroad for Hamas as it is for the Peace Process.

The events of the next couple of years will be interesting indeed.

Is that what you do in jolly old England, invite every member of a party into the government? It sounds too crowded for my tastes.
