Yeah, Tel Aviv is far more likely... this author is off his rocker.

No one answered my question. What did Nate Saint do to qualify him to be proclaimed as one of the great Christian martyrs of this generation by the author of the article? Th author laments Mr. Saint being portrayed by a gay actor. Is there some question as to whether or not Mr. Saint was a homosexual?

Nate Saint was the plane missionary guy who got killed by Indians in Ecuador. He is apparently a great Christian martyr because he was killed spreading the gospel to the "savage."

As far as I know, there is no question to whether the person himself was a homosexual. The problem to some Christians is that apparently the actor who plays him in "End of the Spear" is homosexual.

So this is sorta like using Italian-Americans to play Native Americans like in the good old days of Hollywood, or like using a Jewish guy to play Mahatma Ghandi, or a Hispanic to play Zorba the Greek, or like the obligatory British actor to portray a noble Roman?

I hope no-one who complains about this mocked the Zhang Ziyi and Michelle Yeoh as Japanese affair ...

Anyway, "Nate Saint"? What sort of pathetic name is that? Back in the good old days, saints had names like Francesco or Catarina.

Though of course he was halachically incorrect, as he had never undergone ANY conversion ceremony. Though I suppose that wouldnt stop some Reform or Reconstructionist rabbis. Though his kashrut was a tad too strict for most Reform, I think. Fit in best with the Reconstructionists, of course. Theyd like the "i am a buddist" even better than the "i am a jew"
