It's a very good film, well-shot, well-written, well-acted. All around another extremely well constructed film from the master, Ang Lee.

I saw Bareback....errr, I mean Brokeback Mountain on January 2nd...I thought it was a very good movie, though very sad in the end as well...a tear-jerker in my book.
A definate must-see for Gay and Gay-friendly Apolytoners!

Why so I did. Which has nothing to do with this thread, nor to do with identifying with the supposed theme, plot or characters of a novel or film.
Thanks for that....
well you got me thinking of a supportive reply, one along the lines of my only being able to read novels by Bellow, Malamud, and Roth. Of course none of even them fit either, for various reasons, generation being one of the largest. But thinking of Malamud, who certainly has many characters I couldnt identify with on these grounds (a baseball player, a professional writer, a Jewish chief of the Nez Perce Indians, etc) I thought of "The Assistant". Not that I could identify with any of its main characters either - a gentile drifter, an aged Jewish shopkeeping couple, and their daughter - the daughter comes closest, though again we have both gender and generation setting us apart. But it DID take place close to my home which made me think of the other thread. And was suggested to me by this thread, so I posted it here.
Are you happy now, Mr Thread Policeman?

I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
