It was only a matter of time. He's been around the CivIV forums for a while, trolling/spamming.

Yeah. I figured he'd have a history. People don't generally get to be that unpleasant all at once. They have to work on it.

Would you believe that I used to be a polite, optimistic young man who engaged in serious online discussions? It took 5 years, but now I'm as crotchety a troll as you'll find anywhere.

I don't believe I was ever "pleasant" and to be honest I don't really like the sound of that word. Some of us just have a natural talent for the dark side.

Oh it posts in CIV 4 too, with equally charming opinions about the 'black race' and its supposed lack of contribution to world culture and civilization, but it did find room in its heart to allow that some Asians may just have helped in the general enrichment of world knowledge.

            My, how gracious and all-knowing.

The remarks didn't strike me as being post-modern ironic, or even mildly amusing, just arrogance based on ignorance, as racism so often is shown to be.

True, but I'm resisting the urge to dogpile on the idiot. Ming has already said what needed to be said.

Sheesh, I've never seen so many uninformed accusations and slanders in I can't think of how long.

                        1) Nagin is partially responsible for deaths in New Orleans. He's human and didn't take the situation serious enough or properly use his assets. He had more than enough buses to remove the population. The population didn't want to leave. Over a week AFTER the hurricane people STILL REFUSED to leave.

It's not completely his fault that his city was full of idiots.

                        2) If Brown is guilty of anything its lack of acting skills. Of all the organizations and leaders in the first two weeks, Brown and FEMA didn't the lion's share of postive work and were the most effecient of the organizations (with the possible exception of the New Orleans Police Department's efficiency of breaking into and cleaning out all of the local banks).

Brown did not display an emphathic persona during the first days which made him look like an out of touch moron.

He IS guilty of not FEDERALIZING every single asset and telling the municipal powers of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana to STFU, get out of his way, and do everything he tells them to.

That last part was the mistake he made. Unfortunately, he hesitated at usurping all authority and that left truely incompetent people in unfortuate postitions of power.

                        3) The Governor of Lousiana. This woman is single handedly responsible for the bulk of the deaths. Period. Her incompetence is pretty much, well, I can't think of any one in history even a fraction as stupid as her.

She singled handed kept FEMA and Brown from being able to assist New Orleans for the first 4 days. When they did get there she constantly worked to prevent them from saving lives. If this has been Texas, the state legal system would have executed her by now.

Weren't you the one who claimed that you had fought a pitched battle with "gang bangers" in post-Katrina NO and that your unit had "killed over 30 of them"?

Didn't we, after a week had passed, find out that all such news was completely fabricated? Doesn't that mean that you were either:

                          a) Lying your ass off about your experiences there or
                          b) Lying about being there with the National Guard at all

                            UPDATE:

Hiya, on a quick pass so don't know what you guys have heard but here's an update on my info:

I MAY be going home around Sept 30. No definite info though.

My unit's been busting in doors, killing gangbangers, gathering dead bodies, manning checkpoints, and lots of other stuff. Huge battle between all the forces on our side and the gangbangers last week. Our group supposedly killed about 40+ of the gang members, but I didn't get any official number.

New Orleans is almost completely dry now. The pumps worked incredibly well. I talked an 85 year woman out of her house to be evacuated, some guy from the Wall Street Journal watched, got my name and said he was going to submit an article about it.

Got pictures and stuff I will try to post later when I get home.
