  • Mushariff won't in his right mind send troops into the tribal areas because that would mean civil war. I don't want Talibani types taking control of a country with nukes.

Nah, I don't think so. The historical record is, well, the historical record. If you think that record portrays the west as evil, then you've got some things to work out, I guess.

And if citing history in order to provide a context for what's going on in the world makes you an America-hater, c'est la vie. The current struggle certainly didn't begin on 9/11. And the anti-western fanatics didn't come out of nowhere.

Blame Cold War paranoia and corporate greed, not "the West". Blaming everyone for the actions of the powerful makes you sound dangerously similar to that Native American college professor who said the people who died on 9/11 deserved it.

In September 2001 India was ready to go to war with Pakistan under US and British pressure. They weren't to happy about it but the US was making it clear that if the Pakistanis didn't give up the Taliban then they would go down too and the Indians were all to happy to get a piece of the action thinking they'd be on the winning side. Pakistan read the card, figured out what the winning side was, and decided to nominally sign up with the US/UK.

He was actually white and lied about being part Native American. He's also about to lose his job due to plagerism.

I didn't name "the West", you did. I named historical actions by specific countries. And if you think I'm saying the people killed in 911 deserved it, you're just not listening. I reject the justification provided here for killing a dozen innocent civilians. I certainly won't justify the killing of over 2000.

And quit rolling your eyes. It's not attractive.

You better have some good evidence for that nutty assertion.

                        • I am recall CNN discussions and interviews during the run up to the invasion of Afghanistan. It was right after Bush made his either you are with us or against us speech, aimed at the Pakistanis, and the Indians stressed how they'd just love to be any help they could. The talk was the US was telling Pakistan that either you drop the Taliban or get invaded. Not nutty, just historical fact.

In your black and white world that's exactly how it went down.

                              But check your facts:

                              1) #2 is not dead

                              2) Lots of innocent people ARE

If they can't even confirm the dude is there than what the hell are they launching strikes in the first place, duh.

Your attitude is just as sick and out of touch, but I don't expect any less nowadays.
