Blame Cold War paranoia and corporate greed, not "the West". Blaming everyone for the actions of the powerful makes you sound dangerously similar to that Native American college professor who said the people who died on 9/11 deserved it.Originally posted by techumseh

In September 2001 India was ready to go to war with Pakistan under US and British pressure. They weren't to happy about it but the US was making it clear that if the Pakistanis didn't give up the Taliban then they would go down too and the Indians were all to happy to get a piece of the action thinking they'd be on the winning side. I am recall CNN discussions and interviews during the run up to the invasion of Afghanistan. It was right after Bush made his either you are with us or against us speech, aimed at the Pakistanis, and the Indians stressed how they'd just love to be any help they could.
