A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

What is "you mind as well said"?

Does that mean his mind is completely open or does that mean his thoughts are well stated?

Or just by chance did it actually mean "You might have well said"?

it's okay... the Democratic Party is big enough for the both of us

(although I'd prefer a more competent party... but beggars can't be choosers)

BTW, the people who equate capital punishment with murder are just as ignorant as the people who equate abortion with murder... it's not black and white like that, as much as people want it to be. And when people spout off such nonsense like, "Capital punishment is state-sponsored murder!" and "People who support the DP are evil!" they look just like the nutcases that stand on the side of the road holding up signs with pictures of aborted fetuses.

When I hear that nonsense, it makes me take people less seriously. If you want to lower yourself to the level of anti-abortion whackjob... that's fine. You have every right to do so. If you happen to think the world is black and white like that... fine. That's your right also. I won't object to that.

But just step back for a moment and realize what you sound like to the rest of us.

Capital punishment always seemed to be to be a modern substitute for ritual human sacrifice.

Wouldn't happen if some people didn't just choose to make themselves some ripe candidates.

And you commies have put plenty of people against the wall as "enemies of the revolution" not to mention the less direct, but no less lethal, process of working them to death in the Gulags, etc.

Of course it's not black and white. But does that make you have the right to kill people?
And actually capital punishment is in fact murder... It is done consciently: it is agreed upon to kill a person, usually by a number of people. There is a motive, it's not an emotional act of aggression...On this occasion it's simply not some gunslinging looney, but an organised bunch of people doing it. How can it not be murder

What does repressive Stalinism have to do with this... Rightwing dictators have done likewise in the past, that's no argument.

We're talking about capital punishment institutionalised in the laws of some country, not about some regime killing people in camps.

Anyway the people I know advocating for death penalty usually have other 'radical' ideas. I don't really feel at ease with that kind of people. I mean when they are holding power.
In short: Radicalism is never good
