The guy who wrote it is gay and is an ex-Christian, that should tell you something. The majority of America is Christian, whether you like it or not, so NBC must know that this show wouldn't do well if aired. The simple fact is that this is nothing more than Christian bashing and NBC pushing their agenda.

NBC's agenda is to make money
And the show has generated so much free PR by controversy, I bet it'll get a very high rating for its time slot for, at least, the first show. If its good, it'll kill in the ratings. If not, it'll die.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

AFAIK, those aren't TV shows being shown on network TV... whose primary purpose is to sell commercial airtime... by getting high ratings...
A movie can sell a message and break even with not that many sales, if it is made cheaply. And Syriana was really another conspiracy theory thriller that has been around for ages (did you really think you couldn't make one revolving around oil). A TV show relies on ratings, which brings in advertisers. Even if a show is made cheaply, it needs to sell ad space or else the network is going to cut it loose.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I do remember how Christians said how ridiculous it was when Muslims complained about the '24' stuff? And then they turn around and do the same thing.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Now it's American bashing!!!!
You've forgotten about this 'Establishment Clause', have you?

Is it allowed to complain about bad TV shows?“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

The concept itself sounds stupid and unappealing.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
