The best thing about the otherwise crappy Last Starfighter (Death Blossom??) was that villain dude at the end with the purposeless, dramatic effect only lense-monocle thingy that periodically comes down to cover his eye:
(the Starfighter has just singlehandedly destroyed the Grand Super Armada by using the Death Blossom technique ((sounds like Ender's Game???))

Almost all TV scifi is crap. But it's still better than I Love Lucy.
I'm in the TOS > DS9 > TNG > Voy > Ent crowd, but even TOS and DS9 were somewhat crap-laden.
Almost all scifi movies are crap. Again, I've sold out to ST II and IV because they're fun. And ESB, for that matter. If SW hadn't been the big special effects breakthru movie of the 20th century it would have been utterly forgettable crap.
The fact that ID is one of the top-grossing films ever still grates. What a load of crap.
Contact is one of the few I'd defend, but they did turn the ending into crap. Not only that, but Sagan wrote good, cogent arguments for Joss Palmer, not hollywood faux-fundy crap.(\__/) Save a bunny, eat more Smurf!
