    2 things:

1.why is soccernet so slanted towards anglophone teams (they have the most coverage of the premier league, and follow heavily teams like Australia)

    2. Why does it seem that Sven and Domenach really have no clue what is going on and that the job is way over their heads?

      • I would disagree about Sven, England has recently been playing well, and the only problem has been getting the ball in the back of the net. Getting it to the forwards, and just creating the chances has been great, IMO. Sven is actually doing a good job for once.

Because they get a lot of their content from British sources (mail group I think...), and a very large proportion of their user base is English speaking, Brits and Yanks.

Thougth England were ok yesterday. A lot better than some of our friendly performances, and Uraguay weren't sh*t at all. A lot more to come from them in competitive games and I don't think Bent was very good. He didn't see much of the ball... I don't think he got much of a chance to impress but he was at best average. He'll get further chances but not until after the world cup I imagine.

Carrick further reinforced my view that for balance we should play him in the holding role even if it means making the huge decision of dropping Gerrard or Lampard.

          • If Carrick plays in the holding role then Lampard is dropped.

            • play 3 at the back with wing backs, then you can have carrick in the holding role with lampard and Gerrard marauding forward.
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

                  Yep... play to your market.

I think, Gerrard is. Club loyalties aside, Lampard has delivered his club form for England, Gerrard has struggled to. Wouldn't really matter though, they are both great.

                      • Terrible performance from us this wednesday against Ireland, and with basically the same team that will start for us in the world cup. Apart from Ljungberg, Anders Svensson and possibly Lucic in central defense, that was our best team, and they looked like ghosts on the pitch. However this gives us time to bounce back, if it had happened in the tournament it would be to late.

Irrelevant question anyway. He won't start Carrick.

                          • Play Gerrard on the right like he is at Liverpool then, and put Ledley King next to Lampard and Cole on the left. Problem solved.

                              • The only midfield spot up for grabs is on the left. I'm not big fan of this Ledley King in midfield idea.
