I've been to oxford several times but not sure I know where that bridge is. What's it near?

Huh? Where did you get that from?

          Are you in Manchester?

Trainline, your quick & easy way to book train tickets across Europe. ✓ Save 61% on UK Rail ✓ Live Train Times ✓ Save with a Railcard ✓ Get the app

Says that you can do 2 singles for £12 each on 25th Feb (that's leaving in the morning and returning the same day). So that's £24 and you can get 34% off with a young person's railcard which makes it £16, cheaper than the coach.

As seen from the Bodelian library. IIRC and you look very closely, you can see one of the entrances to the Turf right smack in the middle of the picture.

66 pounds on a train ticket!?

Its almost the same from here to Vladivostok on the trans-siberian....

Its kind of odd how cheap flying is these days compared to taking the train. The aeroplane tickets from Finland to London are starting from something like 25 € and that includes the airport tax.

I'm going to have to wait until January before I know what my financial situation for the next year is going to be and so I really cant say anything definative about my own attendance before that.

Sorry for the inconvinience Drogue et all, but I'm like toutally broke atm. My saldo is nearing the magic -500€ limit and in fact I'm in debt to various monetary institutions. The credit cards no being much help either since you are supposed to pay the bills in 2 months(duh)

And if you Google "Turf Tavern Oxford" you can find a link to the pub's web site, with more detailed instructions on how to get there:

Thirty-four years I lived in Oxford, and you guys decide to have a Poly meet there the year after I left.

Ah, I've been to that. Didn't know what it was called, in fact I don't know what anything is called in Oxford but I think I can find that place looking at the map.

To be fair, if you'd said Bridge of Sighs I'd have known I'd been there.

It's f**king disgusting. I was looking for a train ticket to get back home on Friday for the Christmas weekend and it was a £71 return...so I decided to screw it and drive...

Well I know my way around Oxford pretty well, but it is alarming how much of it is fading
