I'm off to my home town anyway. Visit my brother's birthday party, my old school and all, not to return before Saturday. But then this probably makes Ming ban me for 3 or more days rather than just one or two

Wikipedia is valuable for various reasons, among them the fact that it covers EVERYTHING, no matter how stupid or trivial. If you want to know something about a subject, wikipedia will almost always have some amount of information about the subject, and in my experience the more obscure subjects tend to be more accurate, because the only people who think about them at all are psychotic geeks. But yes, I'd cross-reference everything if I was writing a paper with it.

Wikipedia is great for quickly looking up something. Though for any serious research, I'd use real books. So much crap I find on the internet, I just cannot believe. I'd take wikipedia over a google search. Perhaps a google scholar search would yield better results, I don't know.

Nothing beats being in an argument who links to a Wikipedia side which is just wrong.
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

                            Well, that's true.

                            Maybe enormous by European standards.

When I need a quick question in math, I often check wikipedia or mathworld.

I use Wikipedia in research for papers (I just wrote a paper on novae and supernovae), but the most valuable part of Wikipedia for this purpose isn't the text, but Wikipedia's references. They're usually all first-class resources.
