Wikipedia is valuable for various reasons, among them the fact that it covers EVERYTHING, no matter how stupid or trivial. If you want to know something about a subject, wikipedia will almost always have some amount of information about the subject, and in my experience the more obscure subjects tend to be more accurate, because the only people who think about them at all are psychotic geeks. But yes, I'd cross-reference everything if I was writing a paper with it.Comment

Wikipedia is great for quickly looking up something. Though for any serious research, I'd use real books. So much crap I find on the internet, I just cannot believe. I'd take wikipedia over a google search. Perhaps a google scholar search would yield better results, I don't know.Comment
