I just did some searching and discovered that apparently not a single rear-projection TV set uses three DLP chips, and they all use one DLP chip with a color wheel. Projectors with 3 DLP chips cost tens of thousands of dollars.
And it appears to be widely accepted that Plasmas and LCDs offer much better color accuracy, at least compared to DLP RPTVs.
