  • Leftwich is also one of the top fantasy QBs

DanS: Actually, he's the 9th rated "actual" ranked Yahoo QB, but is only 15th in actual fantasy points (due to injury). But he'd be higher if he weren't injured

another nugget of football wisdom from Imran!

Trent Dilfer's leadership led the Raven's to their championship!!!

I'll add that to, "Mike Vick is a first ballot hall of famer" and the Lion's defense is "dominating"

oh yeah, and the Bears will go 4-12 this year (what you originally said at the beginning of the year )

      • Yeah, he doesn't throw many INTs and throws close to the end line, but he averaged around 200 yards passing per game. According to Sava, those paltry numbers would mean the Jags won in spite of him.

Leftwich is like one of the best QB's in the game. He is a great QB. He does lead his team to victory. He doesn't just manage!

Well duh. I would think that anyone who had any inkling of football knowledge would have seen that team midway in the year (when 5-4) and then saw the run their went on after handing Dilfer the reigns, winning 7 in a row and scoring 24 points of above in 6 of those 7 wins.

Leftwich passes for around 200 yards a game. Wasn't yardage per game how you determined mangement of a game vs. leadership? So which is it? Whatever Sava decides, in his biased little mind, is one or the other?

and having one of the best defenses in history had nothing to do with those victories

btw how many of those points were defensive TDs? or SETUP BY turnovers by the dominating defense?

yeah and look at his receivers this year... his passer rating is around 90... but the receiver on the Jags with the most receptions has like 44...

that is less than 4 per game...

kind of hard to rack up a lot of yards when you don't have receivers...

                    • Mushin Muhammed of the Bears (48) has more receptions than the Jaguars leading receiver Jimmy Smith (44).

although I'm not sure if that is updated... that's from NFL.com

                        And I said that... when?

Best defense in history won't get you far when you offense can't do anyting, as the Tony Banks led Ravens were doing when they lost three in a row without scoring a TD. Without Dilfer, who knows if they make the playoffs.

yeah and look at his receivers this year

That's probably the first time I've heard someone disparage Jimmy Smith (5 time Pro-Bowl reciever) as 'not having recievers'. I mean he only had 74 receptions for 1172 yards and 6 TD last year... but naw.. he's nothing.

And speaking of bad recievers, the top Minny guy has 37 and that's Travis Taylor (yeah, there's a big name reciever). The Vikings pass catchers are Taylor, Koren Robinson (Seahawks castoff), Marcus Robinson (Bears castoff), and Troy Williamson (struggling rookie). Yeah, those recievers make your shudder with fear...

Why don't you just do what you did with Dilfer and say the defense is dominating (they are 4th in yards allowed) and Leftwich is just 'managing the game'. Hell, you seem to be making this stuff up as you go along anyway.

edit: Btw, Brad Johnson's QB rating this season is 85. That's about 4 points higher than Eli Manning (81.1), for whom no one is saying his leadership isn't making a difference. [Though amusingly Mike Vick (81.2) has a higher passer rating than Eli]

well, he's 36 years old... and averaging less than 4 catches a game... he's not a cyborg... this is the NFL. It's a rough sport to play into your late 30's.
Why don't you just do what you did with Dilfer and say the defense is dominating (they are 4th in yards allowed) and Leftwich is just 'managing the game'. Hell, you seem to be making this stuff up as you go along anyway.
No. Leftwich is a skilled QB. He's probably top 10 for sure in the NFL. He has the potential to be a Pro Bowler. Trent Dilfer is not NFL elite. Trent Dilfer is a journeyman lucky to be starting.

                              They are not comparable.
