Gee, if only he was healthy. But he wasn't. And now he hasn't taken a meaningful snap in nearly 4 months.

Exactly what is your experience in professional football?
It's the time at this level that is important. He spent 1 full season as a rookie watching. That first season as a rookie QB watching, gainging experience is important. Rex had that, Kyle didn't.
Rex has also had 2 full preseasons as the starter where he's taken the time practicing with the first unit, learning the system (with Lovie). This is not counting the OTA's and the workouts.
All the time you don't see on Sundays.
Kyle was just thrown into the fire. He knows only 15-20% of the playbook.
A healthy Rex Grossman, even at 6 NFL games, gives the Bears a better chance to win. Period.
There is no question about it.To us, it is the BEAST.

Krenzel had a rag arm and it showed.
Orton showed impressive arm strength in preseason and has managed a 9-4 record.
If Grossman was healthy, he would and should have been the starter. But at this point, he's an unknown quantity. It's a situational judgment that the coaches have to make. I agree with their judgment at this point.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

It's the same argument.
The Bears are 9-4 with Bobby Wade returning punts. Is that an excuse to leave him in there even though he fumbles 25% of the time?
ANSWER THE QUESTION.To us, it is the BEAST.

He was a second stringer. Verifiable fact.
His rookie year he sat on the bench.
His second year he practiced with the first unit (preseason)
His third year he practiced with the first unit (preseason)
2 years practicing with the first unit.
CAN YOU COUNT? 3 years in the NFL, 2 years practicing with the first unitTo us, it is the BEAST.

ANSWER THE QUESTION.
We have not discussed Bobby Wade. As it happens, I do not agree with the coaches decision on that. Which is a totally different question. That does NOT make you right about Rex Grossman.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

The Bears record is 9-4 with Bobby Wade returning punts. FACT.
Bobby Wade fumbles 25% of the punts. FACT.
Is the Bears record with him as punt returner an excuse to keep him as punt returner?
Why can't you just admit that it is the same RETARDED LOGIC?!?!?!To us, it is the BEAST.

CAN YOU COUNT? 1-2-3 years in the NFL 1-2 years practicing with the first unit
so I'll give you that point.
(Except, in fact, he got hurt in the 2nd game this year, so it's less than 2 full preseasons if you want to get technical.)
The problem here seems to be that you want to argue about who is the better quarterback. The problem is that you seem to think all that clipboard time and rehab is all it takes -- like you can flip a switch and succeed in the NFL.
Grossman wasn't even healthy enough to be 2nd string until this week. Do you really think an NFL coach would risk the team's success -- and Grossman's health (again) -- for 10 QB rating points and the hope of "maybe he won't be too rusty"? After all, IF he performs as well as his track record, we have a 50-50 chance of a TD pass this week!!
Or maybe, just maybe, he turned into Johnny Unitas during rehab. Yeah, that's likely!!!!Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

You don't just look at someone's stats and project how they will do in a game. Especially when they have only 6 games to their credit.
They actually go out and play the games. They aren't simulated on a computer.
Rex is a better QB.
If he's healthy, he should start. Period.
And fortunately for the Bears, I think that's what will happen.
However, I don't think he's healthy yet.
So I'm going to stop arguing with you. I fear I might have lost an IQ point or two doing so.
Deflecting posts filled with football stupid does that to me.
Hopefully in the future you will stop listening to John Madden and Sean Salisbury.
Maybe then I won't get dumber listening to you.To us, it is the BEAST.
