Yeah if they dont fly the red white and blue - there just terrorists now or in the making. Kill em all and God bless us.

or maybe there is a better way to 'make friends and influence them' ?

      Oh really?

No, US is not worse than other past war criminals (Hitler, Stalin and even Saddam Hussein himself), but you should note it's also no better, meaning that while most past 'war crimes' have been done either with little public appeal (read Hussein, Stalin) or within light of uber-rascistic fanatism (read Hitler), US is doing it with approval of nation.

Your reading skills, since they are so excellent, will surely enable you to realize that, in this gem of yours, you are saying the US (collectively, I suppose) is a war criminal, meaning that it has committed war crimes.

Let's move on. From the original poster:

When some US citizens get killed - it is terrorism
when civilians in other countries get killed - it is colateral damage.

The original poster is here pointing out that the killing of civilians is terrorism, while if it is done by the US it is collateral damage. Thus, he proposes that they are different terms for the same things. This is also known as terrorism equating to collateral damage.

I called him an idiot, and you? Well...

If you call him so because he dared to post such an obvious thing, I fully agree with you!

So, you are here saying that it is obvious that terrorism equates to collateral damage.

      Which brings us to:

Your accusation of war crimes, however, is totally without merit, and the idea that terrorism equates to collateral damage and vice versa indicates a colossal lack of understanding on your part.
Which is correct - you both accused the US of War Crimes, and equated terrorism with collateral damage.

So please point out to me where exactly my reading skills went awry, hmm?

I fall into the "long time listener first time caller" catagory, love the thread. But when someone wants to start bashing the US and painting us as maniacal killers I get a bit ticked off, and it seems that quite a few here agree with the sentiment.

Word "crime" is connected to word "law"
If the use of incendiary compunds is not banned in the US then this matter is questionable. Some people would not consider it crime then, unless regulated by law.

However, I do not think that anyone is going to convince me, that if some groups of people in Iraq kill each other, that gives right to another country to kill even more people, especially bystanders, by burning them in this way.

I think that it is much better for the US to sign appropriate conventions at this time. And first and foremost: stop using any incendiary weapons. It will only turn out for good for the US. I observe how much damage recent wars made for the United States because of the way these wars are handled and I think, that it is less and less time to fix things. some things are made by few - a commander not abiding regulations or simple common sense of humane conduct. Although, this is that the whole nation will suffer consequences later.

              About colateral damage and terrorism.
Why do you think Allies during second world war were bombing industrial centers in Nazi Germany? Who calls them terrorists today? Bombs were killing civilians then too. Often they were prisoner workers from conquered countries. So even bombs were dropped on own countrymen or allies. So when killing civilians is ok, and when it is not ok? Have a broader view on this. Think about it, you may go into philosophical issues here, but you may come to interesting conclusions.

The more Iraqis die today, the more hatred will be created. Place yourself in shoes of such people there, who were just living in a city where an insurection errupted. Imagine you lost someone from your family, coz occupation forces decided to use incendiary weapons and did not care that more will die as colateral damage. Are you surprised that some of such people later take weapons and go and kill? I am not.

                        OT = on-topic or off-topic?

And while there are plenty of intelligent on-topic posters. it takes a while to sort them out from the billion newbies.
