What's funny is Quebec votes in the Liberals as well.

They vote in the Liberals which are corrupt, and then they vote in the PQ who whine about corruption and want out. It's remarkably silly.

Isn't Alberta feeling that same sentiment in some quarters? You included?

    Ontario Sucks
What sentiment? That we don't want to be part of a corrupt system?

Yes, but that's also why we tried to vote out the corrupt party...unfortunately Alberta's votes mean sh*t when Quebec and Ontario decide the election and like corruption.

Isn't ripping off Newfoundland like mugging a beggar?

Why won't Quebec renegotiate for something reasonable?

      • Why does Quebec keep *****ing?

Why did Alberta **** with the PC party when they were sitting on top?

Why can't we all just get along?

        Eternal questions of Canadian politics.

I believe the Liberals haven't won a majority here since Trudeau. I might be wrong on that tho.

            • Meh, it was just something I kinda recalled from my Poly Sci class. Don't mind being proven wrong on it.

              • Unless you mean simply in seats, in which case you're right.

The Libs blew the BQ out of the water in the popular vote in 97, and returned 36 seats to the BQs 38 (IIRC)

                • isnt 38 > 36 tho?

although I do see your point in popular vote.

edit: so yeah, if the BQ still had more seats in 97, then previous to then, in which election had the Libs got the majority in SEATS?

                      • So you're in favour of separation and then you want to move?

I'm undecided but understanding of the seperation movement.

And you haven't answered my question.

Honestly, i'm in all likelyhood voting no in the referendum. I love Canada, I truly do. And if Quebec does seperate, and remains hospitable, i'll stay. But if the language laws get intolerably worse and I have to raise my kids unilingually french or something dumb like that, i'm out of here.

So again, where are you again, Maryland? How is it?

                            • I'd love to end up back at home again. I just hope it's still there for me. If Quebec separates I'm never going back. I already saw the discrimination the provincial government was capable of, and their inability to properly manage Quebec (both sides).

I don't want to know what would happen in a sovereing country. Especially one where 52% of people polled were in favour of sovereignty, but 56% wanted Quebec to remain a part of Canada and only 40% wanted Quebec to be its own country.

Might not have to worry about that.

PQ hardliners are saying if they win, its gonna be a straight forward seperation ballot. None of that association bull****.
