  • Where are you in comparison to where you thought you'd be when you were twelve?

When I was twelve, I thought I would be a university student at this point.

I'm a year late, but here I am.

I never imagined I'd still be poking around websites like this tho. Also thought I might be closer to moving out. Oh wells.

How about yous? Lets hear some life stories.

I thought I would have died in an Air Force mission by the time I was 35.

Seeing as I actually joined the Army and not the Air Force (and have since honorably discharged after 12 years) and see no possibility of this happening, I am nowhere near where I thought I would be, and I guess thats a good thing.

I didn't really think about what I'd be at my current age. However, I did think that I'd "take my freedom" from my parents as soon as I'd turn 18, and yet I'm living with my parents again

                I'm not happy about this.

Not sure what I wanted to be at that age, either comic book writer, professional football player, or mayor. Pretty much heading to non of these (or nothing at all, for that matter).

I figured I would be a Neurologist, or a Priest. I also figured I would have my mother living into her 90's, like her mother and grandmother, and that my brother would always be there for me.

Instead I'm a contracted out Air Traffic Controller, whose mother died at 52, and whose brother is so mentally f*cked up he'll never be OK - oh, and I left the Church. Conversely, I have a wonderful little girl who I could not have imagined even if there were prenatal order desks - except dear God could you have let her inherit just a LITTLE BIT LESS OF HER DADDY'S STUBBORNNESS - so I'm still doing OK.

Pretty much where I thought I'd be, only with more computer and less money. Unfortunately, in the intervening years I still haven't got around to planning any further ahead than next year.

Since the internet did not exist when I was twelve, I also didn't think I would be on this type of site .

At twelve I had simply no clue where I would be or what I would be doing at age 37, but I think employed , married and with a child would have definitely been contemplated

I thought I'd be married with five kids and living in the suburbs.

Now I know: four kids is more than enough.
