Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

But it's too abstract to be fun.

Toilet / shower have existed before 250 years ago. However, I did entirely forget about them regardless of that, so I feel embarassed anyway.

IIRC early flush toilets were installed in royal palaces in around the 16th century, and there have always been outhouses and chamberpots, so the basic idea of keeping all your crap in one isolated place isn't new.

As for hot showers, I'm thinking the Roman baths were 2,000 years ago, and AFAIK wherever there are natural springs, humans have gathered around and used them...

“In a democracy, I realize you don’t need to talk to the top leader to know how the country feels. When I go to a dictatorship, I only have to talk to one person and that’s the dictator, because he speaks for all the people.” - Jimmy Carter

I think that actually mass production is a secondary product of modern metalurgy. Attempts at mass production in the late 18th and early 19th century failed because the technology to fabricate parts with precision simply did not exist.

It was certainly thriving after a couple of dozen years of Tudor rule.
