  • Top ten innovations of the last 250 years

So, nice mindless list thread. List, in order or decending importance, what you view as the top ten innovations of the last 250 years (since 1755) of course. Ideas are allowed obviously, not only things, or machines.

    1. Steam power
    2. Electricity
    3. Anti-biotics and vacines
    4. Internal Combustion engine
    5. High explosives (TNT and so forth)
    6. High grade steel
    7. Chemical fertilizers
    8. Nationalism
    9. Atomic fission
    10. Transistor.

There is a difference between patriotism and Nationalism. Nationalism (with a capital N) is most certainly a French Revolution born notion.

Please name the great Nationalistic endevours of the 17th century?

                    you get the idea.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

No it hasn't. What we know of as nationalism hadn't even been invented until the late 18th Century by German philosophers. A simple passion for your king and country isn't nationalism. It's more than loving your country or your people.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
