yeah, I don't like some of the changes to the Score...

but still...

the very worst of the Score is still better than anything on ESPN radio, IMO


WMVP = meathead radio

the only time I have listened to ESPN radio recently is when I was driving back from the city one night last week (on wednesday I think)... the Score was having a half hour dedicated to NIU football...

so I turned the dial to listen to the Houston/Cardinals radio broadcast

but this was at like 9:30 PM at night...

during the day however, there is no possible reason for me to go to ESPN whatsoever...

I will even listen to Mike North before I will turn to WMVP/ESPN radio

That numbnuts, it was the pitching that was poor!

Actually, at the end (playoffs) the real weakness was atrocious defense. The pitching had improved to "decent" by then (from "flat out bad" earlier in the year). The hitting ran into really good pitching and defense.

Well... as much as I dislike Mike North, he is by far better than Mike and Mike in the Morning. For example, this morning I listened to M&M from 5:30 to 6am, since the Score has nothing good on before Mike North. They were doing a World Series special report... and spent 10 minutes discussing whether the roof should have been open or not, and then spent another 15 minutes on the Death of an NFL owner. If it wasn't for the 2 minute sports update, anybody who didn't know who won last night still wouldn't know. Typical east coast crap... Not my idea of World Series report...

Houston has two also... ESPN 790 and Sportsradio 610.

Both have local, but 610 has more of it.

Both are better than the Chicago stations.

Atlanta has 2.5 . There are two dedicated sports channels (well, except one has Bill O'Reilly for 3 hours from 12 to 3) and then ESPN radio is on another station (sister station of the one with O'Reilly) from like 12-6.

Shocklingly, the one with O'Reilly in the afternoons is actually the better one, most of the time, IMO. The other one has a few good programs, but mostly has crap (especially idiot hosts that talk about which woman is hot rather than SPORTS! And it's like they don't even know the Thrashers exist).

They had a couple of the afternoon bozos from 790 on our ESPN outlet for a simalcast... there were morons. If that's the best you can offer, both your stations must really suck

I get the definite sense that the Latino HOF Team was not originally scheduled to be announced on a Wednesday night pregame.

It's very nice and all, but where the heck did this come from? How were these players chosen? By whom? When?

I'm tempted to call it pandering of th worst sort, but maybe I just missed a big promotional campaign over the past several months...

Oh, and where, by the way, is The Senor, Al Lopez, manager of the 1959 White Sox?

And when will they announce the All-Black and All-White Boy squads?

Looking at the pathetic lack of preparation and promotion, I'm inclined to conclude that MLB is suffering from a lack of leadership.

Bud Selig, this lack of excitement is happening on your watch. You have no vision and your game is floundering. Your biggest stage is going to waste through lack of promotion, and you stand idly by.

Oh, BTW, how are you and Donald Fehr coming along on that tough new anti-steroid plan? You know, the one that Fehr told the US Senate we could expect by the end of the World Series?
