      Dated Sunday, 15 September, 2002.

      Emphasis mine

Last month in New York, intervention from the Secretary of State Colin Powell diffused a similar row when diplomats almost had their cars towed for parking offences.
Close but no cigar . Like I said, they didn't tow because it would be big deal. It would be interesting to see if Red Ken would have the balls to tow or boot embassy vehicles.
If you look around and think everyone else is an *******, you're the *******.

      • I deliberately highlighted 'almost'.

The point being both sides can play the game before eventually backing down.

        • Red Ken doesn't give a crap. In fact, causing a row might be beneficial to his greater aspirations.

          • Greater aspirations to what exactly?

              • Ken's aspirations? That's a bit drastic.

                • Ken's aspirations to higher office.

                  • What type of office though. He has little else to go, politically.

I'm just curious to see where you think he can go that is better than where he is.

                    • Yeah, he is not currently an MP so it is virtually impossible for him to get back into government and become PM...which is realistically one of the few positions higher than his. He is still one of the most powerful politicians in the country as the mayor of London...
