Spiffor, rememebr you're judging from 1 job you had. These folks know more about the German economy than a guy fromFrance who had one job over here and judges it all from that one job. And now you come and lecture me about believing falsehoods spread by interest groups. Facts anyone?

The unemployement-advisor told me that my wage would be purely a boss-employee decision. She seemed annoyed that more and more people accepted a measly 6€ an hour, and tried to encourage me looking for better paid jobs (I suppose she wanted to so what she could against the spiral of decreasing wages).
I've given you my facts: liberal decisions favouring the market have been in fashion since Kohl. I've given numerous examples of how your country is already deregulated (in response to Imran).
Now, give me your facts. If you don't have any facts and only judge from what others say, then you're a parrot. If you're able to show me facts, then you aren't."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

Germany doesn't need roll backs of wages per say but they do need to make it easier to fire people, harder for unions to strangle businesses, less regulation, and getting the politicians out of companies like VW (partially owned by the state it resides in). VW is losing money yet it can't readjust its work force so that it fits with the company's current market share because the politicians who control the state owned shares don't want to increase unemployment. The result is the company struggles because the politicians are doing what is best for their political careers instead of what is best for VW.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

I'm trying to open your mind for the whole debate, not be a part ofthe debate. I've already said I didn't read intot he labour legislature, so where's your clever revelation for tonight?
So all you're saying is YOU don't know what the discussion in this country is all about, becasue YOU haven't seen any of these regulations. Maybe the state of Baden-Württemberg is less regulated than many other places in this country? I don't know, do you? Do you have any idea about the decentralism in a federalist country? Probably not. Maybe I have no facts to offer, but hten I don't need them because I'm not trying to convince anyone. You are, and all the facts you have are some personal experiences from a very limited point fo view.
And you obviously don't know what a parrot is (we don't call people animal names, do the French?):

Who are you talking to? Are you honestly contending that unless you personally come up with an idea you can't support it? Some one is a parrot for taking the advice of experts in economics such as the economist? It seems to me that claiming such a thing is not very logical.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

By and large Thatcher's reforms were good for the British economy and restored dynomism, however, she just dumped a lot of industries which could have been saved and reformed into valuable companies. Look how France has been able to reform Renault and Dassault. Most of British heavy industry could have been similiarly reformed though it would have taken state support and years of effort.
The results speak for themselves though. France did things the slow and steady way so they still have an autoindustry while the UK doesn't. Of course France didn't do any of Thatcher's free market reforms so their economy continues to lag. The best solution seems to be inbetween where the free market gets to work but where the country continues to practice something of a state capitalism system by nationalizing key companies when they're about to fail, reform them and invest in new product lines, then privatize them again. Korea practices this and does very well as does Malaysia.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
