  • Where is the last "help me buy a new computer" thread?

I think we should have a topped "Computer buying advice" thread, since someone is always posting annoying threads like I am.

So, I'm looking to get a new machine. Mine's 3 years old, so it's that time. No, I will not build my own.

Just go to a local shop where the people sound smart, tell them what you're looking for and at what price and they'll build one for you.

Its better and cheaper than going to Best Buy, etc...

Get an Athlon 64 computer. Not HP/Compaq or Gateway.

Or a 100% fanless and noiseless Athlon 64 4000+ system?

Yeah, I'm not spending that much on a PC. $2,000 max, including a monitor.

                      How about this?

                      (sucks for gaming)

Gaming is important, yes. I pretty much time my new PC purchases to releases of new Civ games...

That last one looks pretty good Asher, just a pity about the case ( and that it's not AMD) .
