In Germany you can get a beer in a pub at 16.

And if you're cool you can buy beer in shops even earlier, just don't get caught

Um, based on the people i've known who drank at 16, I think 21 is a perfectly respectable drinking age. I'm tempted to suggest 25 ... and STRICT enforcement ...

I don't think I agree with that ... The younger people are, the less they tend to consider consequences of their actions. True, Booze screws you up regardless, and our culture has screwed up that even further by promoting drinking to such an extent ...

... but a 16 yr old with a case of Bud, and a 25 year old with a case of Bud, are two very different monsters. Both monsters, but very different ones, and to a different extent.

I got a beer in a pub in Germany when I was 13. And I looked 10.
