I had entered them in on the draft results, I thought it might let you trade them at that point since they were assigned to your teams.

Anyway, since the draft is over it's time for a new thread: http://www.apolyton.net/forums/showt...hreadid=139317

Just because it is on the draft results doesn't mean you have those players... not until you "Submit" those results.

I know you guys don't like the leafs, but not taking Lindros, O'Neil or Allison. I wouldn't take them in the first couple of rounds, but for no one to pick them, that's just crazy.

I would have maybe taken Allison if we had another line of forwards...

but Lindros? I hear he's already injured...

and O'neill? he is coming off a down year...

If they get injured you put them on the IR and pick up another player. If they're healthy, they're all good for about 70 points. O'Neil's playing on the PP.

And Sava, how could you overlook Mark Bell. He's going to be a great power forward this year.

                Then there's Zherdev with Columbus.

Still, some great steals in the last round

                14.7 notyoueither - Ty Conklin - G (EDM)
                14.6 Kontiki - John Grahame - G (TB)
14.5 Guynemer - Jochen Hecht - LW (BUF)
                14.3 dejon - Curtis Joseph - G (PHO)
                14.2 123john321 - Marc Denis - G (CMB)
14.1 Imran - Alexei Kovalev - RW (MON)

Kovalev's the best of the group. Can't believe he was the last one to go. He's got to be good for 75 points this year.

Yeah, I was hoping against hope that I'd be able to pick him up with the last pick... it would have made the trade with Sava that much better (otherwise, I'd have to pick a D backup instead of a RW).

It's not that I didn't overlook him... it's a question of not having enough roster spots to pick all the good players out there.

We only have 14 players on our teams...

Every one of my players is on the top line on their respective teams...

Bell is a good player, but he is going to be on the second line on Chicago. So far, Chicago's top line is going to be Ruutu, Arnason, and Daze... with line 2 shaping up to be Calder, Bell, and Rene Bourque (possibly Martin Lapointe). I had to go with Arnason. In the last NHL season, he led Chicago in scoring, despite being in the doghouse of former coach Brian Sutter. Arnason averaged only about a minute more in average ice time than fourth line center Scott Nichol and didn't got a lot of Power Play time because Sutter hated Arnason. With the Hawks firing Sutter and hiring Trent Yawney, Tyler Arnason is going to flourish. Yawney coach Arnason for 2 years at Norfolk. Tyler is going to succeed under Yawney's tutelage.

It definately helps when your coach encourages you instead of trying to fight you in some bar in Nashville (like Sutter tried to do with Arnason back in Feb of 2004).

I wonder where the Sharks would be last season if they didn't fire Daryl Sutter and trade Kipper for virtually nothing.

don't they have a good goalie though?

                          Not as good.

Nabokov had a 2.21 GAA and 0.92 SVP last season, Kiprusoff had a 1.70 GAA and 0.933 SVP.

Kiprusoff had a salary of $400,000/year last season, Nabokov is what, 5-6M?

Yeah, but Kipper sucked in San Jose. GAA above 3, IIRC. The only reason Calgary picked him up was because of Sugtter.

For the Sharks, getting rid of Sutter was a good move. His style didn't work with the players there. He's better off in Calgary. Meanwhile, Wilson is doing a better job in San Jose than he did in Calgary because his style fits better in SJ.

The reason Sutter works in Calgary is because he actively recruits western Canadians for the team -- he's building a "prairie team".

                                ???

You mean like Kipper and Amonte.

And while Kobasew is a westerner, Osoyoos ain't no prairie town.

I looked up his stats after you picked him and talked to a buddy in Penticton. My friend agrees with you that Kobasew has got great potential, whether it is this year or the next remains to be seen.
