I think the murderers are on trial for the murder that happened in California? The injustice of it all, is that they are only sentenced to four years in prison for KILLING a transesevite.

You wouldn't say "those guys that lynched the other guy got four years for KILLING a black" or "the Saudis got a slap on the wrist for KILLING a woman". You'd cut off at "KILLING" or say "a person", "a human," whatever.

I know, I know. But the smallest language differences can tell as much as the entire discussion...

This one was in CA, but the perps are going to get hefty sentences.

I thought there was a verdict where the murderer(s) got only four years to prison, with parole in two years on good behavior. It was on Fox News either earlier today, or yesterday.

I believe he was trying to make the point that the reason they were only sentenced to 4 years was because their victim was a transvestite.

Oh, and:

Transvestite: one who dresses up as the opposite sex

Transgender: one who feels they are trapped in the body of the wrong sex

Transexual: one who has undergone/is undergoing sex change therapy

Oh, and to be even more precise. Transvestites are those dressing/posing as someone of the other gender, transsexuals are those who've had an operation and have actually changed sex, and transgendered people is a more general term for people who feel they've been born with the wrong gender.
