Has Harry Redknapp ever been offered it? He always comes across like someone who has the ability to get the commitment out of his players - and seems to enjoy a certain cross section respect from managers+players for his service to the game over the years. Has he ever been in charge of a top flight team(like an Arsenal/ManU/Chelsea etc)?
Plus i just like him - he not a bull ****ter, says what he thinks

You are all missing the point. English international football is all about glorious failure. The qualifying group was so weak they could not manage to not qualify despite their best efforts. So now they have to go to Germany. That means getting past the group stage before losing a knockout game on penalties (preferably to the Germans) in the great English tradition.

We'll lose the game against the worst team, beat the best team in the group and draw the match against the mediocre team to progress to the second round in second place.

In an hour and a half, we will know whether Denmark or Turkey (or possibly Greece) will take 2nd place in Group 2 for the play-offs.

If Turkey wins against Albania, they will finish 2nd.

If Turkey draws or loses, and Denmark wins against Kasakhstan, Denmark will finish 2nd.

If Turkey loses, and Denmark draws or loses, and Greece wins against Georgia, Greece will finish 2nd.



Current standings, midway during the first half:

Kasakhstan-Denmark 0-0
Greece-Georgia 1-0

Not that a whole lot of people seem to care, but now it's all over for Denmark. Turkey defeats Albania 1-0, Denmark leads 2-1 with a couple of minutes to go, but to no avail. Turkey is through.

That's sad for you Winston, who would have expected Ukraine to win the group. They are a good team though.
