A same-party congress that he put in place, I might add. Remember that a president is supposed to lose ground in the Senate at each election. But Bush has gained ground every time.

I doubt the Democratic party can take much more of this "success" of theirs.

Think how stupid Kerry has to feel every time his peers call Bush a Moron.

But at least he married money so he gets credit for that.

That's a good comparison with Clinton. Clinton couldn't keep his congress together. Bush has done better than keep his majority together -- he has gained ground.

And yet it's taken him four years to get his "energy" bill passed, social secruity deform is dead in the water, and he's floundering around like a ****** in a pond.

A floundering second-term president wouldn't be signing bill after bill in August. Certainly, I cannot recall a second-term president who has done so. Can you?

Not while he's on yet another five-week vacation, no.

So this is the question that it's important for you lot to answer. Who was the last second-term president who was able to sign into law a good portion of his second term agenda? FDR?

The upcoming election will be the 4th national election in which Bush is involved. The 2-year elections (especially the Senate elections) are very important in testing the mettle of a president.

I thought DanS would be astute enough to recognize America didn't vote Republican in support of corporate-pork laden energy policies or any other piece of filth legistlation they've managed to pass.

They voted Republican because they don't like boys kissing boys... because 9-11 was being thrown into every discussion... and because Satan has given Karl Rove exceptional political skills.

If the Republicans laid out their true agenda in plain English to the American public, they'd go the way of the Whigs.

Of course that's the beauty of a 2nd term president. You really don't have to give crap about the polls.
We'll see how the REPUBS do during the mid term elections.
