              Uh huh - all those thousands of people that have died in Iraq due to the invasion wouldn't be. Instead we could have done something to prevent the genocide in Sudan - maybe even have prevented the famine in Niger...?

                  Yeah, and ignoring all those that saddam killed and which tradition his sons proudly would have taken up when this great leader of a country 20 or 30 years in the future died. Oh, I forgot - you think that Iraq was a peaceful country where noone was ever hurt by the state.

                      The overwhelming majority of those were killed in armed rebellions when we was our ally - hell we practically encouraged him giving him all the tools he needed for his WMDs...

                      So don't come all moral when we backed his brutality in the past when it suited us.

                          The post WW2, occupation in Germany, including some armed resisitnace and a significant amount of casulaties, lasted around 10 years after the surrender.

                                The fact that people and politicians in the past had done something bad should make it imposiible for me in present to do otherwise now ? Thats plain stupid.

                                You also seem to forget that though there was WMD killings in Iraq, most of the killings was done with good old soviet hardware.
